December 2011 This time last year the ground was covered in white glistening snow. The tree branches were heavy and big down jackets were required.
Christmas and New Year are just around the corner and we would like to inform you of our office hours for the upcoming holidays.
Our office will be closed from Friday December 23, and open again on Monday January 2.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Sincerely yours/ Furnco |

On board with the newest LED technology When talking about LED, the first question has, for a long time, been the choice between low-power/constant voltage or high-power/constant current systems. LED systems were too complicated to buy and to use.
More than 1 year ago Furnco launched a LED lighting system that was based solely on low-power LED diodes, constant voltage 12V DC and using the same type of connector system throughout and with a LED driver that worked from 1W up to 15W. All LED lamps in our product range - cabinet, under-cabinet, over-cabinet, mirror-lights, minispots, etc, comes with the same type of connector system and 12V DC. The reactions from customers were positive.
Our system and products enabled customers in a much easier way to mount LED in their furnitures, by just adding the Watt of each lamp (without exceeding 15W) and connecting them all to the same driver. As easy as using halogen systems, but with longer life and less trouble.
To further develop our range of products, in 2011, we drew up a list of remarks that customers had with LED in general. Most common were that they don´t want to see the diodes, with low-power diodes they want more brightness and with high-power they want lower price and lower temperature. Again, low-power or high-power diodes?
Most talked about in the LED community have been for some time Chip-On-Board technology. They are much brighter and have better light dispersion than any other LED technology.
But COB have until now always required high-power/constant current LED drivers.
In 2012, Furnco are launching our own Chip-On-Board range of products. A range of products that are much brighter, have better light- and temperature dispersion, fully covered diodes and only requires 12V DC constant voltage. Yes, you read correctly, COB with 12V DC constant voltage and with the same type of connector system as our existing lighting fixtures.
All these new designs and many more will be on full display at Z.O.W. in Bad Salzuflen in February 2012. |

Z.O.W. 2012 Shortly after the new year has begun it is time for the first exhibition show of the year. It will take place in February 6-9 and we sincerely hope you will find the time to come. We have many new lighting fixture designs, newly developed LED drivers etc. Our stand will be in Hall 20, stand C48, close to the center Forum. Welcome!

Expanded LED driver program For 2012 we are expanding our LED driver program to include drivers that start from 1W up to 30W. With the same quality as before and all with 5 year warranty and certified with Nemko. |

|
Did you know? Did you know that we certify ALL electronic products - LED drivers, halogen transformers, energy boxes, remotes, switches etc?
We have a close and very long standing relationship with Nemko in Norway and together with the knowledge and experience of our engineers we are the only company in Europe, supplying the furniture industry, that both certify all electronics AND give out a 5-year warranty.

Chinese New Year
Not too be confused with "our" New Year´s Eve, December 31, but we are influenced, in Europe, by this very popular Chinese public holiday in many ways. For example many Chinese companies will close their factory and/or offices for up to 20 days. That is why deliveries from China to Europe always takes a lot longer than normal during this time of year.
Chinese New Year or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often called the Lunar New Year, especially by people in mainland China and Taiwan. It falls on different dates in our western calendar each year and for 2012 the New Year will be celebrated on January 23.
The Chinese New Year celebrations are marked by visits to kin, relatives and friends, a practice known as "new-year visits". Many times far away from their place of work or residence. The New Year's Eve dinner is very sumptuous and traditionally includes chicken and fish. The colour red is liberally used in all decorations. Red packets or envelopes are given and often contain money in certain numbers that reflect good luck and honorability. Several foods are consumed to usher in wealth, happiness, and good fortune. And of course, fireworks!
Gung Xi Fa Tsai! Happy New Year!
Ps. 2012 is the year of the dragon, 2011 was the year of the rabbit. |

F.A.Q.
Q: Is it possible to dim LED lighting fixtures?
A: Yes, many types of LEDs are possible to dim, but we do not recommend it. Studies have shown that dimmed LED can cause radio wave disturbance.
